A ninety two page book containing hundreds of Montuno Piano patterns in 2/3 and 3/2 clave. Almost every example is written in montuno style (for ensemble playing) and in montuno/tumbao style (for solo playing).
This book explores different chord progressions common to this style such as:
- Major and minor
- I-IV V-IV
- I-IV V-IV V-IV I-IV
- II-V-I
- Dominant patterns
- Half Step Descending Progression
- Whole Step Descending Progression
- Song progression in 2/3 and 3/2 clave

An accompanying MP3 library with 304 files matches every example of the book. Each track features a piano and rhythm demo section followed by a bass and percussion section for practice. There is an additional MP3 library consisting of percussion only audio tracks in 2-3 and 3-2 clave. The 22 percussion tracks vary in tempo from 132bpm to 212bpm.
For the serious student, songwriter or producer, a MIDI library featuring every example in the book is available as a digital download.
