In this book, Carlos Campos delves into an aspect of the music of the Dominican Republic called “Merengue”.
This style is known for its intricate rhythms and ultra fast tempos. Most of the examples in this book are divided into “Derecho” and “Pambiche” styles. This book contains more than 400 examples for piano.
Most of the piano patterns or “Guajeos”, are also divided by patterns played in octaves or tenths, patterns in major or minor keys, basic patterns or arpeggiated and broken patterns. Additionally, the “Guajeo” patterns go through all different type of chord progressions popular within the Merengue style.
